Counsciousness, Installation - painting, 300 x 25 cm, Trafo Gallery, Prague
The beamer in this installation flashes a spot that enlights particular segment in one of the paintings. The spot moves from one segment to another or changes its position instantly. Installation focuses on personal inner spaces and spatial maps and movement among them. This installation refers to memory, consciousness and images within.
Memory Work series also builds upon principle of expanded panorama. The series is based around topics such as imagination and using memory and their limited capacity. BW or color print copies of grid segments are used as main element to create an object or painting. Process of placing copies over each other and slight displacement out of grid shall emphasizes the uncertainity and shift of our inner images.
The repeating structure visible in these paintings is based on cubic panorama that is being expanded onto surface repeatadly until it reaches edges of canvas. The cubic panorama itself depicts 360° view of particular environment.
The Structure is actually a spatial grid. Each segment is defined by its own vanishing point.
In other words, the field of view widens extremely. This allows observer to see whole situation "zoomed out" so much the linear perspective breaks into segments.
